Hockey 9/30/14
This week in hockey the preseason has continued as teams try to figure out who will be a good fit for there team and who won't. Jason Pominville of the Minnesota Wild has stood out in the preseason so far and looks like he could break out as an all star in the season. Last game he had a hat trick and has looked sharp all around. Peter Mrazek who plays goalie for the Detroit Red Wings looks great so far in the pre season and could earn him a permanent spot on the team instead of switching back and forth from the Red Wings affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins. In other news experts rated the top goalies coming into this year and rated Henrik Lundquist of the New York Rangers first after coming so close to winning a Stanley cup with them last year. They also voted for best defenseman coming into this year and Drew Doughty who plays for the L.A. Kings and led the to the Stanley cup is rated first out of that group.

Another person hurt was Jordan Staal of the Carolina Hurricanes who suffered a lower body injury in the 3rd period of his game. A goalie that has stood out so far is Jonathan Bernier of the Toronto Maple Leafs who got a shutout in his first pre season game and looked very sharp. A player that stood out this past week was Veteran Mikeal Samuelsson who had 3 points in a game against last years Stanley cup winners the L.A. Kings. English 9/19/2014
For English week we did a couple of readings and analyzed in some certain ways. On Monday class was cancelled, but we got an email and it told us to do a couple readings. One of them was from our book and the other was online. They were called "The Lesson:" by Toni Cade Bambara and "Pet Milk" by Stuart Dybek.. In the first one we talked about how the narrator characterizes Miss Moore and if her opinion changed or stayed the same throughout the book. We ended up deciding that she changed her opinion about her a little bit but didn't show respect for her. The other we had to talk about the setting and if it would be different it was somewhere other than it was. We decided that it would be way different if it wasn't in Chicago cause in a small town the descriptions wouldn't be the same. That is what we did and learned about in English this week.

Hockey
For my blog on Tuesday I am going to be talking about hockey and all the interesting news that there is about it. Since I was 5 years old I played hockey and I fell in love with it, so I know a lot of background information and the topic is not new to me. I played all the way up through high school and this is my first year not playing hockey in a long time. My favorite teams are the Detroit Red Wings and the Los Angeles Kings. I love watching hockey as much as possible and whenever its on tv I am very entertained especially if its one of my favorite teams. Some of the things I will be covering through the season are injuries, trades, exciting games that happen, and also team decisions with certain things happening in their franchise. That is why and what i'm writing about in this topic
